Crows are interesting to watch.  They're a bitch if you have nut trees, corn in a field, or shiny objects in your yard.  Where I used to live, there was a pecan orchard an acre away, and those damn birds would swarm that field as soon as the nuts were mature and starting to fall from the trees.  The family bought a "crow cannon" that was set to go off at specific intervals to scare the birds off.  The crows figured out EXACTLY when the cannon would go off.  They'd leave the field a few minutes before the cannon fire, and as soon as it went off, they'd fly back over and feast.  I lost my cool mirror gazing ball because those greedy bastards pecked it into a million pieces trying to carry off.  If they aren't being too aggravating, they're quite comical to watch.  The pecking order, literally, is fun to watch in a family unit, and the intelligence is amazing.  I swear they're smarter than most humans I've run into in life.  ;).

Hmmm....  Better watch that asshole neighbor closely.  Crows don't tend to hang out unless there's carrion or pecans in abundance.   Anyone planted a nut tree or lost a pet recently?  ;)
